How Purple Star Readings Work
Every reading on Purple Star Astrology is generated from your unique Zi Wei Dou Shu birth chart — a map of 12 life palaces, each governed by a cluster of stars drawn from 108 celestial bodies. The chart is calculated using your exact birth date and hour, following classical methods unchanged for over 1,000 years. Because the calculation is deterministic, you can generate as many charts as you like for free, with no account required.
Palace readings go deeper. Where the free birth chart shows you the star positions, a palace reading interprets what those stars mean for that specific life domain — your Career Palace, Wealth Palace, Relationship Palace, and so on. Each reading retrieves relevant material from a 427-passage Zi Wei Dou Shu knowledge index and synthesizes it against your exact star configuration. You can unlock palaces individually at $1.99 each, or get all 12 as a bundle for $9.99 (saving $13.89 versus buying separately).
The Year Reading (Liu Nian 流年) is a separate product that maps annual celestial movements onto your natal chart, month by month. It covers which of your 12 palaces are activated each month, what the year's dominant stars signal for your fortune, and the quiet inflection points most people miss. Year readings are $3.99 per year and available for 2026 and 2027. Until Feb 5, 2027, you can get both years together for $6.49 (saving $1.49).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Purple Star Astrology?
Purple Star Astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu / Tử Vi) is a 1,000-year-old Chinese astrology system that maps your destiny through 12 life palaces and over 100 stars. Your chart is interpreted using a 427-passage Zi Wei Dou Shu knowledge index.
Is my birth chart really free?
Yes. Chart calculation is always free with no limits. You can generate as many charts as you like without an account. Personalized readings are paid features.
What do I get with a palace reading?
Each palace reading is an in-depth reading of one area of your life (e.g., Career, Wealth, Relationships). It covers star placements, interactions, and personalized guidance based on classical interpretation methods.
How are payments processed?
Payments are securely processed by Dodo Payments. You can pay with credit card and other methods depending on your region.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you are unsatisfied with a reading, you can request a refund within 7 days of purchase. See our Refund Policy for details.
Can I buy just one palace reading?
Yes. Palace readings are sold individually at $1.99 each. You choose which of your 12 life palaces to unlock — Career, Wealth, Relationship, Health, and so on. If you decide to unlock all 12, the bundle price of $9.99 applies retroactively, so you only pay the difference.
Does the Year Reading require the chart overview?
No. The Year Reading (Liu Nian 流年) is independent of palace readings and the chart overview. You only need a free birth chart to unlock it. It focuses on how the annual celestial cycle interacts with your natal chart — a separate layer of interpretation from your static palace readings.
Is this a subscription?
No. Every product on Purple Star Astrology is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring charges or subscriptions. You pay once per reading and own it permanently — palace readings are always accessible from your chart dashboard.
